The Trumpeter Swans

Trumpeter Swans are one of my favorite birds. When I actively worked as a Veterinary Nurse I got to work up close and personal with them. It was quite an amazing experience. As a photographer, I have always wanted to get pictures of them in the wild but never had the opportunity until a few weeks ago. I just happened to be sitting in my camper and saw these 2 come across the my view. I grabbed my camera and slowly made my to them, trying to get as close as possible without scaring them off.

I have been on this lake for over 10 years and this is my first time seeing them so I was pretty excited. I was even more excited when the next images started to unfold in front of me. I love being at the right place at the right time.

Trumpeter Swans are North America’s largest and heaviest flying bird. Because of their massive size, they need at least 100 yards in order for them to take off. I hope you enjoyed my pictures.

Round Lake Luck, WI: Charlie vs Goose

Charlie tried making some new friends last weekend but I don’t think they wanted to be his friend.

I was able to get some great shots once Charlie lost focus and realized he wasn’t going to reach them, well he could of if he tried but the water was pretty cold.
